summer holidays

After the long ice age Winter we have just had, I am in need of sun.
At the end of what was a really bad week (it included two hospital visits, arguments, assessments and tears)

Along came my friend who gave me the answer I was looking for, SUMMER IN IBIZA.

Let the planning begin, my university term finishes in mid April until September (23 weeks). We both have a part time job, but we thought one of the main advantages of the student life is the long summers. So we are flying out to Ibiza on the 4th of June with a one way ticket.

to do list
  • book flight
  • book accommodation
  • find a job (as the money tree is NOT in my garden)
  • health insurance
  • travel insurance

We spent an evening comparing prices flights with numerous airlines, flying from our first airport choice Edinburgh, second choice Glasgow and Prestwick our third choice. It would had to have been good flight times and a saving of at least £15 to make it worth flying from Glasgow or Prestwick.

We managed to find £39 flight from Edinburgh with Jet2 bargain, but as we went through the purchasing menu the price slowly rapidly crept up to £101. Especially with us being girly girls we increased our luggage to 30kg. I then remembered about the Jet2 points system which we had forgotten to sign up for - so we had to retype in our details, which if your like me you find it irritating the amount of times you have to type your name, DOB and address online.

Better late than never...

Well hello there blogging world...
It has taken me months of my university lectures and friends talking about blogs and religiously reading my favourite celebrity, fashion and beauty blogs for me to join this craze.
Guess what took me soooo long,
picking the name.
It HAD to be 'cool'
It HAD to reflect my personality
and it had to be something I won't get bored off.

Then on a lovely Wednesday evening whilst avoiding my final assessment work of the year, I came up with it
Big Hair and a Passport
I'll explain the reasoning behind it... since I was about fifteen I have been obsessed with BIG hair... back-combing, extensions and any volumising products. A Passport is because as you will find out I'm a fan of a wee adventure.

So as they say 'Better Late Than Never'

My blog is going to be where I'll share an insight into my student life and the things I love beauty, fashion and travel.
